Hi, I’m Katrina, the audiologist at Resonate Whakatane.
I’ve been proud to call Whakatane home for the past 13 years. People often describe me as detail-oriented, friendly, and warm, and I like to sprinkle in a joke or two to make people feel at ease! I see myself as an advocate for my customers, walking alongside them on their hearing health journey.
My career in healthcare began as a licensed pharmacist in the Philippines. I worked in the pharmaceutical industry before moving into teaching as a Pharmacy lecturer at a university in Manila. When my family and I moved to New Zealand in 2011, I found my true calling in audiology, and I’ve never looked back. There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing the smile, laughter, or even happy tears that come when someone has their devices turned on for the first time.
I joined Resonate because I believe in their holistic approach to hearing health and healthy ageing. I appreciate that we are giving the time to connect directly with community groups, raise awareness, and build strong relationships with other local health professionals. But above all, I love the meaningful conversations I get to have with customers, and the trust that grows as we work together toward better hearing.
Outside of work, I’m a busy mum to an energetic toddler and a playful Cavachon Maltese dog. I love travelling with my family and discovering new corners of New Zealand or exploring overseas. I’m also a big fan of food and enjoy trying different cuisines!
