What does hearing aid connectivity mean?

Connectivity simply means your hearing aids can link directly to other devices using Bluetooth technology.

Modern hearing aids can stream sound from your phone, television, computer, or tablet straight into your ears. Instead of relying on room speakers, the sound goes directly to your hearing aids. For many people, this makes phone calls clearer and television easier to follow, especially in busy households.

Most Bluetooth-compatible hearing aids also come with an app that lets you adjust the volume, switch between listening programs, or fine-tune your hearing aid settings for different situations, such as restaurants or meetings.

Some models, such as the Resound Vivia 9, also support remote adjustments, allowing your audiologist to support you at home, at work, or even overseas.

Connectivity doesn’t change how the hearing aid treats hearing loss, but it can make day-to-day listening more flexible and convenient.
