Hi, I’m Vanessa, one of the Navigators at Resonate Kerikeri!

I’ve been a Kerikeri local for the past eight years and absolutely love being part of this community. I have thirty years of experience in nursing, and I’ve seen how hearing loss can affect all areas of someone's wellbeing. It can increase the risk of isolation and even cognitive decline, which is why supporting hearing health felt so important to me.

When I saw Resonate Health was opening a studio in Kerikeri, I jumped at the chance to be involved. I was immediately drawn to Resonate’s vision of making hearing devices accessible and affordable for all New Zealanders, and I love being part of a team that genuinely lives its values of trust and transparency every day.

I really enjoy taking our customers through the Ear360 assessment. It’s a great opportunity to build rapport, and even if there’s no hearing loss, it provides a helpful baseline and can highlight any risks early, giving people peace of mind.

However, what I love most about my role is connecting with people, and getting to know local healthcare providers, groups and organisations in Kerikeri to raise awareness of hearing health in our community!  

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me outside with my husband, Dave. We love renovating our home, growing our own fruit and vegetables, and exploring the beautiful walks and scenery Northland has to offer. I feel very lucky to live in the ‘Winterless North’ and to be able to combine my love for community with the work I do every day.
