Audiologist

Silver Huang

Hello there! My name is Silver and I’m an audiologist working between Resonate Cambridge and Tauranga Crossing.

I was born and raised in China and moved to New Zealand when I was 13. After finishing high school and university here, I went on to complete my Master of Audiology at the University of Auckland. New Zealand has truly become my second home - I love it here!

When I first started studying, I thought hearing was all about the ears we can see on the sides of our head. But during my undergraduate years, I discovered the science of how hearing actually works and realised there’s so much more involved! That’s when I became fascinated by audiology and decided this was the path for me. (I’ll admit, I was a little disappointed to learn there’s nothing we can do about selective hearing though!)

What I love most about Resonate is that it’s truly customer-centred. We’re transparent with our customers and with each other, and I always feel confident knowing we provide the very best support, especially with aftercare. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is building real connections; so many of our customers become not just customers, but friends and family. I love when they pop back in to update us on their lives!

These days, I live in sunny Tauranga with my wonderful husband. When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me paddling on the Blue Lake or exploring Tauranga’s beautiful reserves with our beloved dog, Brownie.
