Hi, I’m Kevin, an audiologist with a personal connection to the hearing health industry. My interest in audiology began long before I first set foot in university. Growing up with family members and friends who were deaf or had hearing loss, I was able to appreciate the significant role of audiologists in helping people and improving their quality of life. The first customer I assessed as an audiology student helped me see that this profession, at its core, is entirely about people, and I knew that this was the right career choice for me.
I began my career in South Africa, where I had the privilege of working in both technologically advanced private sectors as well as extremely resource-constrained government sectors. South Africa’s unique socio-economic context allowed me to appreciate the great need for audiological services across all ages and demographics. This gave great emphasis to our role in advocating for people with hearing loss and making support for anyone who needs it. I joined Resonate Health for this reason. I love that we’re able to break down barriers to accessing quality care.
Throughout my career, I’ve seen how the cost and availability of services have consistently been major barriers to addressing the needs of people with hearing loss. I love that we’re able to break down barriers to accessing quality care and provide support that’s truly accessible to more people than ever. I was also inspired by their holistic approach to hearing health, as well as their focus on healthy ageing and addressing the various aspects of well-being that hearing loss can impact.
Outside of work, I am a husband and father, and I am usually running after my kids. I love spending time with my family, being outdoors and enjoying hiking and trail running. I also love a good South African Braai!
