Yes, in many cases. If your hearing aids are connected to a compatible smartphone and the ReSound Smart 3D app, we may be able to adjust them without you coming into a studio.
There are two ways we can do this: by sending you updated settings through the app, or during a video appointment.
What you'll need
- A compatible smartphone with the ReSound Smart 3D app
- Your hearing aids connected to your phone
- An internet connection
You'll also need remote care set up with Resonate. If you haven't done this before, our team can help you get started.
Option 1: Request an adjustment through the app
Step 1: Open the ReSound Smart 3D app
Go to My ReSound and select Request Assistance.
Step 2: Tell us what's happening
Follow the questions in the app and describe what you'd like help with.
For example, you might find that voices aren't clear enough in a noisy café, or one hearing aid sounds louder than the other.
Step 3: Wait for your updated settings
Your audiologist will review your current settings and make any adjustments needed.
We'll send the updated settings securely to your phone.
Step 4: Install your new settings
When you receive the notification, open the app and follow the instructions to install the update.
Keep your hearing aids close to your phone while the settings are transferred.
Step 5: Try them out
Wear your hearing aids in the situations you were having trouble with.
You can send feedback through the app if something still doesn't sound right.
Option 2: Have a video appointment
Some adjustments can also be made during a video appointment.
Using a compatible smartphone or tablet, your audiologist can connect with you and make changes to your hearing aids during the appointment.
Make sure your phone and hearing aids are charged and you have a good internet connection before the call.
What can be adjusted remotely?
Depending on your hearing aids, we can make changes to:
- Volume: How loud sounds are through your hearing aids
- Balance: How the sound compares between your left and right hearing aids
- Background noise: How your hearing aids manage noise and help you focus on speech
Some issues, such as a damaged hearing aid or a physical blockage, may still need an in-studio appointment.
