Hi, I'm James, an audiologist at Resonate Havelock North. I joined audiology because I wanted to work in an industry that was practical, people-focused, and allowed me to make a real difference to Kiwis lives.
I love when a customer comes back and you can see they’re more present, more connected, and more engaged in the world around them. It’s a great reminder that hearing care is about much more than ears.
As an audiologist, I’m passionate about health equity, especially about reducing barriers to care and making sure people can access quality care when they need it.
I was drawn to Resonate because it values people, not products, and takes a holistic approach to audiology. Hearing aids are only one part of the picture. What matters most is the person. I appreciate being able to use the full range of my training to support someone’s hearing, balance, cognition, and general wellbeing, so the care feels meaningful and useful in real life.
Resonate is the best place I've ever worked, partly because the company’s values line up so closely with my own. The culture is extremely supportive, which means I can focus on doing what’s right for each person I see, looking at their long-term care and making sure they have the best experience possible.
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active by gardening, walking, swimming, cycling and going to the gym. I also like growing my own fruit and vegetables, baking bread and sweet treats, art and playing the guitar.
