Hi, I’m Lesleigh, Head of Customer Retention and TeleAudiology.
I have been an audiologist for 25 years and have a unique perspective as I wear hearing aids myself. I grew up in a Deaf family and used sign language in our household. I was the “voice” of my grandmother. This meant that growing up, I was aware of how isolating it can feel when living with a hearing loss, and how it can impact your relationships with other people.
Over the course of my career, I have worked across all areas of the industry, from public health to grassroots startups. I have been lucky enough to start three audiology clinics from scratch, introduce a semi-implantable hearing aid to the NZ market some years ago, and then spearhead the world's first dedicated Remote Audiology Service Hub. The best part of being an audiologist is the people you meet. Audiology is a beautiful mix of technology, science, health, and people; everyone you meet has a story to share!
I joined Resonate because I believe in improving accessibility and supporting New Zealanders to access better hearing health care and premium solutions without a high price tag. To be involved in an NZ startup with such engagement and a unique service delivery model is so exciting! The possibilities and opportunities are endless.
When I’m not at work, I love being active and try to spend as much time outside as possible! You can usually find me riding my bike, camping in our VW Kombi van with my daughter, or working on a woodworking DIY project.
